The ‘power’ statement is in this season in fashion house Dorothy Perkins.
Exaggerated shoulder wear and sexy silhouettes are the main themes of Dorothy Perkins’ FW09 collection. Key fabrics used include unique material like acid washed denim, supple leather, luxurious velvet and heavy embellishment.
This collection is inspired by the glamorous, exuberant 80s fashion look with a modern edge using materials like boyfriend jackets coupled with body-con dresses and slim fit jeans.
This season, outerwear is making a statement by using big shoulders, decadent accessories, pointed padding and studding on the shoulders. The use of accessories is prominent with statement heels and oversized clutches. The stud is overworked into appealing ankle boots, multi-stranded belts and chunky biker boots. Coloured animal prints punctuate an otherwise solemn outfit.
